Brethren,
We continue to
communicate regarding the multiple tragedies that are
striking Somalia at this time. We have committed to
sending two containers that will provide 40,000+ pounds
of rice, family buckets, personal hygiene kits, shoes,
and clothing. The
attached report has a picture from one of the
Internally Displaced People's (IDP) camp in northern
Somalia where our containers will be distributed. In
communication today I was told there are approximately
75,000 living in this area. These have fled the horrors
of terrorism in the south and are suffering from the
famine and drought. The pleas are heart breaking. The
compliments that are being voiced in the willingness of
the Lord's Church to help is very encouraging.
Read the attached and find encouragement that comes
as a small number of brethren in Brussels, Belgium have
given to assist the Lord's efforts in Somalia.
For those in the
Searcy area be watching for a
newspaper report on our Somali effort in Saturday's
edition.
