Greetings from Donetsk, Ukraine!
It is cold and raining over here. Temps for the upcoming week
forecast more rain and evening temps at -1C or lower.
Attached is a
newspaper article that was published Friday in
Searcy, AR. The article discusses our efforts to assist in
resolving POW/MIA issues that are still open from WW2, Korea,
and Vietnam.
Please note there is one critical correction that should be
made—Ukrainians fought as our allies during WW2, not as our
enemies. Ukraine was a part of the Soviet Union and were
soldiers in the Red Army. I have heard many complimentary
remarks from Ukraine’s WW2 Veterans on how the American soldiers
behaved and loved God. Although the troops were our allies I
seriously question Stalin’s position as an ally—with Stalin we
shared a common enemy but not a common objective and ethic.
If you subscribe to the mission trip reports you are aware that
things are going very well on my trip. Reports and pics are
posted on my personal web site (www.kachelman.com) and on the
Judsonia church of Christ site (www.judsoniachurchofchrist.org).
Best wishes,
John
